Antermoia & Surroundings Between nature and culture
Antermoia is a picturesque mountain village at the foot of the Passo delle Erbe, surrounded by meadows, forests and the impressive peaks of the Dolomites. Choosing to stay here means choosing peace, nature and a step away from everyday life. At the same time, the location offers many opportunities to explore the region – actively or at a more relaxed pace.
Dolomites In the heart of a mountain landscape
Right on the doorstep lies the Puez-Geisler Nature Park, one of the most striking protected areas in the Dolomites. Wide alpine pastures, distinctive rock formations and well-maintained paths shape the landscape. Since 2009, the Dolomites have been recognised as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, known for their unique geology and ever-changing colours.
From gentle walks to more demanding mountain hikes, the area offers a wide range of possibilities for active days. Popular routes starting from the Passo delle Erbe include the panoramic Monte Muro, the circuit around the Sass de Putia and various walks to alpine huts and viewpoints in the surrounding area.
Culture Experiencing Ladin traditions
The region around Pension Maria and Antermoia is deeply rooted in Ladin culture. Historic farmhouses, traditional architecture and a distinct language continue to shape life in the valleys. The Museum Ladin Ciastel de Tor in San Martino in Badia offers insights into the history and daily life of the Ladin people. The nearby Val di Morins in the village of Longiarù, with its restored water mills, is also well worth a visit.
Discover Ideal for excursions
If you are looking for a change of pace, the towns of Brunico (approx. 30 minutes) and Bressanone (approx. 1 hour) are both easily reached. With their historic centres, cafés and shops, they provide a pleasant contrast to the quiet of the mountain village.
